VBA’s second cladding audit


The VBA audited 42 buildings in various suburbs of Melbourne with links to the builder of the Harvest Apartments, Clarendon St, South Melbourne.


The audit followed largely the same process as outlined for the first audit.


This revealed:

  • 24 buildings with non-compliant use of cladding.
  • 18 buildings with compliant use of cladding.

Like the first audit, the use of cladding was considered compliant if additional documentation or fire engineering reports were provided to the VBA to confirm compliance. The remaining buildings identified as non-compliant have been referred to the relevant local council's municipal building surveyors for assessment.
