ABCB consultation RIS – Non compliant use of external cladding products on buildings
Wednesday, 31 August 2016
Earlier this year the Building Ministers' Forum agreed to the development and implementation of a range of national measures to help address risks associated with non-compliant cladding products on high rise buildings, including the review of Volume One of the National Construction Code and the consideration of options for mandatory third party certification of cladding materials.
Following this the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) has published a Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement ("RIS") that examines the non-compliant use of external cladding products on high rise (Type A and B) buildings, where the installed products do not avoid the spread of fire, the Consultation RIS is available at the following link http://www.abcb.gov.au/Resources/Publications/Consultation/Non-compliant-use-of-External-Cladding-Products-on-Buildings-Consultation-RIS
Interested parties are invited to comment on this RIS by Friday, 30 September 2016, comments must be mailed to the ABCB office at email@example.com with the subject title "External Cladding RIS".
