Keeping Compliance Certificates and Associated Documents
Tuesday, 4 October 2016
Plumbing practitioners need to be aware that Section 221ZM of the Building Act 1993 requires a copy of every signed compliance certificate to be kept by the plumber for a period of ten years. This requirement includes keeping any other relevant details in relation to the work for which the compliance certificate is required. If the work was done under a performance solution approach or a plumbing modification declaration, there will be additional documentation associated with the compliance certificate. This additional documentation must be kept as part of the compliance certificate for the required ten years.
For more information please see the compliance certificates section of the VBA website.
