Man fined - unregistered, no building permit or insurance

A person has been convicted and fined a total of $10,000 by the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for carrying out illegal building work.
The man was prosecuted for carrying out domestic building work without being a registered builder, without a building permit and without the required insurance protection. There was no written building contract.
The charges were laid by the Victorian Building Authority.
He pleaded guilty to all the charges.
