NCC 2022 Roadshow
The NCC provides the minimum necessary requirements for health and safety, amenity and accessibility, and sustainability in the design, construction, performance and liveability of new buildings (and new building work in existing buildings) throughout Australia. It is updated every three years.
The NCC is divided into three volumes, depending on the type of work or building:
- Building Code of Australia Volume One – applies to Class 2 – 9 buildings including commercial, industrial, multi-residential, public assembly buildings and associated structures.
- Building Code of Australia Volume Two – applies to Class 1 and 10 buildings including houses, garages, carports and associated structures.
- Plumbing Code of Australia Volume Three – applies to construction and installation of plumbing and drainage systems in buildings and where services are installed independent of buildings.
To communicate the detail of NCC 2022, the VBA is pleased to be hosting in-person seminars throughout regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne where there will be an opportunity to network with colleagues and speak to technical experts. Roadshow dates, times and locations are outlined below.
Following a meeting of Building Ministers in late August, it was decided that NCC 2022 will be available from 1 October 2022 and will commence on 1 May 2023, with a transition period to 1 October 2023. For more information visit the ABCB website.
