‘Proud to be a registered plumber’: VBA launches new registration campaign

Proud to be a registered plumber
The VBA has launched a new campaign to encourage plumbing students to gain their registration.

With just 60 per cent of plumbing apprentices applying for registration after completing their training, the VBA has launched a new campaign to encourage final-year students at TAFEs and registered training organisations to gain their accreditation.

Two highly experienced VBA plumbers have starring roles in the campaign, which will see TAFEs and RTOs supplied with promotional materials including a video, posters and postcards.

The message to plumbing students is simple: there are many reasons to be proud to be a registered plumber.

With the campaign launching in mid-February, the VBA anticipates a steady rise in the number of plumbing apprentices applying for registration over the coming months.

Campaign posters will be displayed around TAFE and RTO campuses, with postcards to be distributed by VBA examiners.

A short video will also be shown to first- and final-year plumbing students enrolled in the Certificate III in Plumbing. The video features two of the VBA’s plumbers, who provide advice on the steps needed to apply for plumbing registration.

The registration campaign is part of a broader suite of initiatives aimed at raising general awareness of the VBA brand amongst Victoria’s future plumbers.
