Product recall: Fluidra Group Australia Pty Ltd – AstralPool Gas HiNRG, ICI and Viron eVo Swimming Pool Heaters

Water heaters product recall
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) has published a product recall for Fluidra Group Australia Pty Ltd – AstralPool HiNRG, ICI and Viron eVo Gas Swimming Pool Heaters.

The recalled products were available for sale between 1 December 2012 and 26 October 2020 and feature an ignition module that may fail and cause a fire, which may result in a serious injury or death to users or bystanders.

What appliances are affected?

HiNRG Natural & LPG Gas Heaters

  • Model Numbers: 175, 250 and 400
  • Part Numbers: 15800, 14800, 158001,148001,15801, 14801, 158011, 148011,15802, 14802, 158021, 148021

ICI Natural & LPG Gas Heaters

  • Model Numbers: 200 and 400
  • Part Numbers: 15258, 152581,15259, 152591

Viron eVo Natural & LPG Gas Heaters

  • Model Numbers: 250, 350 and 450
  • Part Numbers: 15250, 152501, 15251,152511, 15252,152521

Gas-fired (natural & LPG) water heaters specifically for use in swimming pools and spas.

Water heater product recall

What should consumers do?

Consumers should immediately stop using the heater and disconnect the unit from the power supply.

Contact Fluidra Group Australia Pty Ltd to arrange for a licensed gasfitter with Type A appliance servicing work endorsement to repair the heater on site.

If consumers are using a Viron Connect Automation System in conjunction with the heater, it will require a temporary cable to be connected to the Viron Connect for the pool pump to operate. Contact Fluidra on the below details to arrange for this cable to be sent to you.
