Building fees

The following fees apply from 1 July 2020. All fees are exempt from GST.

Building registration fees

If the above circumstances apply to you, please attach a copy of your Jobkeeper/Jobseeker entitlements from ATO/Centrelink to your application for registration, renewal or annual fee and insurance and send your paperwork to the VBA, as instructed on that application.

Jobkeeper

You are not eligible to apply for an exemption on a fee until you receive confirmation from the VBA that the relevant fee is due.

Employees:

  • A payslip issued to the employee by the employer that clearly indicates the applicant or practitioner is participating in the Jobkeeper scheme. The payslip description should state "Jobkeeper" or "Jobkeeper – top up"; or
  • A bank statement that indicates Jobkeeper payments have been deposited into the account of the applicant or practitioner; or
  • A copy of the employer’s Business Monthly Declaration submitted to the ATO that specifies that the employer is claiming Jobkeeper for the employee; or
  • A letter from the employer on company letter head signed by the manager responsible for payroll, outlining whether the applicant or practitioner is currently participating in the Jobkeeper scheme.

Employers:

  • A bank statement indicating that Jobkeeper payments have been deposited into the account of the applicant or practitioner; or
  • A copy of the Business Monthly Declaration submitted to the ATO.

All applicants and practitioners must attach the PDF version of the Business Monthly Declaration to their email.

Jobseeker

You are not eligible to apply for an exemption on a fee until you receive confirmation from the VBA that the relevant fee is due.

  • A bank statement that indicates Jobseeker payments have been deposited into the account of the applicant or practitioner; or
  • A letter from Centrelink outlining the applicant or practitioner is receiving Jobseeker payments. The letter must display a date.

Once the VBA is satisfied that you are eligible, we will contact you via email to confirm that the relevant fee is exempt on this occasion.
