Apply for registration online
You can complete your application online by logging in to VBA, if you are applying for one the following categories
- Building Inspector
- Building Surveyor
- Commercial Builder
- Demolisher
- Domestic Builder
Online registration is not yet available for the following categories:
- Draftsperson
- Erector or Supervisor of Temporary Structures
- Project Manager
- Quantity Surveyor

1. Log in to VBA
To get started you need to log in to VBA. If you haven't logged in to VBA before, you'll need to create an account with the VBA by following the instructions on the log in page.

2. Go to registration and licensing
Once you're logged in, go to the Registration and Licensing page by:
- selecting Registration and Licensing, on the Welcome page, or
- selecting Registration and Licensing > Your registration and licences, from the menu
You can start a new application by selecting, “Apply for a new registration or licence”. On the following screen, you can select the type of registration you are applying for, then select Start New Application.
Note that if you already have an existing registration with the VBA you, you will be able to view them when you enter Registration and Licensing screen.
3. Complete your registration application
Complete the application form by working through each section. The summary page shows each section of the form, and will show completed sections with a green tick. When all sections have a green tick, you can submit your application.
Your work will be saved automatically. You can find your draft application at any time on the Registration and Licensing page.
