In 2016, the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) conducted surveys of two distinct groups: more than 1,400 industry stakeholders and VBA staff, and more than 2,000 members of the general Victorian public.

The aim of the survey was to gauge people's knowledge of the role of the VBA, their trust and confidence in the Victorian regulatory environment. It also looked at the level of satisfaction with VBA services and staff.

The results will help inform policies and procedures that will aim to build both knowledge of, and confidence in, Victoria's building regulator.

The next survey is scheduled for late 2017.
