Virtual masterclasses continue to draw big crowds
The latest session was the third in an online education series presented by the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) aimed at supporting the building industry by providing practical insights and useful resources.
Attendees heard from MinterEllison Partner Jeanette Barbaro yesterday, who presented on conflict of interest during design.
Ms Barbaro spoke about the Code of Conduct for Building Surveyors which came into effect on 1 January 2021, and presented practical examples of good practice.
The VBA’s State Building Surveyor Andrew Cialini said interest in the series remains high, with more than 2,100 attendees taking part across the three masterclasses.
“It’s great to see such a strong turnout from the industry to our Practitioner Education Series,” he said.
“This series is aimed at the building industry and will help support the industry by providing practical insights, evidence-based strategies and useful resources.”
Other masterclasses have included the VBA’s Principal Fire Safety Engineer Dr Weng Poh, who discussed the requirements for the construction of fire rated elements in construction and the VBA’s Acting Manager, Building Audit, Kessje Wassink discussing bushfire audit findings.
“We have some great speakers scheduled in the coming months, I encourage anyone interested in gaining insights into the building industry to register,” Mr Cialini said.
