Compliance & Enforcement Reports give industry, practitioners and the community an insight into the VBA's compliance and enforcement activities.

The VBA’s Building Documentation Audit Program (BDAP) involves desktop reviews of documentation related to building work in Victoria, including administrative and technical documentation, to ensure building practitioners are carrying out their functions correctly and a quality-built environment is maintained.

The VBA’s Annual Report describes the activities undertaken and the impacts achieved that contribute towards the VBA being recognised as a trusted and effective regulator.

The report was prepared in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1994, relevant Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations, Standing Directions and Financial Reporting Directions.

The VBA’s Annual Report for 2022-23 was tabled in State Parliament on Thursday 16 November 2023.

In accordance with the requirements of the Building Act 1993 and the Building Regulations 2018, building surveyors submit information relating to their building permit functions to the VBA.

The information provided is drawn from and reliant on the information provided by building surveyors.
